WARRANGU; RIVER STORY RESOURCES
Dedicated to my grandmother Mary Shearer.
This album is incredibly personal to me, born from the strength and urgency of my community. As a proud Murrawarri artist, I present "WARRANGU; River Story" with all its rich teachings and powerful messages.
Seven years in the making, this project is a testament to our heritage, resilience, and the vibrant stories that flow through our rivers and culture.
Here’s some important information I wanted to share with you,

To Date, over 30 million fish have died, due to mismanagement and over-irrigation.

During February this year, dissolved oxygen levels in the Darling River dropped below the critical threshold for fish health almost daily. Fish require at least 2 mg/L to survive. The lowest recorded level was 0.1 mg/L on February 27. On April 26, oxygen levels dropped to zero.
Today, thousands of fish continue to rot.

Since 2018, the Menindee Lakes have been drained at least three times. Over 4,000 GL; that’s more than 8 times the water volume of Sydney Harbour.

The river is sick, creating a domino effect on the water quality and its ecosystem.
The government was given an initial deadline for water recovery targets, set for June 2024.
Which is far from being met.
This crisis has been ongoing for decades.
The evidence is damning.
The future of the Murray Darling Basin hangs in the balance.
Urgent Action is required now.
